Yoga Teacher Bio
Ananda Das has been a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Kundalini Yoga as taught by the Kundalini Research Institute since 2006.
In April 2020, he also completed a 300hr teacher training in the Himalayan Yoga tradition known as Sattva Yoga. In May of 2020, he also completed an 18 day, 60 hour course on the Bhagavad Gita, both the 300hr and Gita courses we taught by Anand Mehrotra, a himalayan yogic master.
In addition to his BA in international and sustainable business, he has a minor in East Asian Religions and studied yogic philosophy at the University of Oregon and the Dharmalaya (2003-2009).
Ananda also completed and taught at numerous holistic yoga and leadership immersions at the Dharmalaya between 2007-2009 (a holistic yoga, permaculture and meditation center in Eugene, Oregon) under the guidance of Ravi Logan.
Ananda spent 4 years learning with Viriam Singh and Kaur in Eugene, Oregon as well as studied under the guidance of master teachers Gurucharan Singh, Guru Singh, Krishna Kaur in the Kundalini Yoga tradition as taught by KRI.
He has attended ten, nine day Kundalini Yoga summer solstice intensives in New Mexico. Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda also regularly support prominent Kundalini Yoga teachers Kia Miller and Tommy Rosen on their trainings and immersions.
Since meeting Jaya Lakshmi, they have toured nationally and internationally offering healing mantra music concerts as well as teaching Kundalini Yoga. Ananda has regularly taught at Beloved Festival (OR), Bhakti Fest (CA), Hanuman Festival (CO), and the Sedona Vedic Astrology Conference (AZ). He has also taught at Wanderlust (Oahu, Squaw, Whistler, Aspen), Bali Spirit Festival, Maha Bhuta Festival (FL), Prana Fest (OR) and Peace Village Festival (OR).
